Heavy rains affect spillway operations
Heavy, unexpected rains have Logan Martin and Harris lakes above their normal summer pools.
- Logan Martin is projected to crest sometime on Sunday, possibly as high as elevation 467, or 2 foot above normal summer level.
- Harris should remain under elevation 794, which is 1 foot above normal summer level.
- Smith is expected to rise just over its summer pool of 510.
In addition to the gates now open at Logan Martin and Harris dams, there will be additional spillway operations at Henry, Lay, Mitchell, and Jordan dams, and Martin Dam near Alexander City.
