Alabama featured in Sky Magazine
One of the world’s largest airlines now features Alabama in its in-flight magazine.
The June issue of Delta Sky highlights several aspects of the state, such as its success in drawing new industry and the reasons why Alabama is a great place for businesses to invest. The special section features work from local writers such as Cary Estes and Carla Jean Whitley.
Sky reaches 5.1 million readers a month, according to the magazine’s website, primarily through placement of copies in seat pockets on Delta flights. Delta and Delta Connection carriers fly to more than 300 destinations in 59 countries. The airline serves more than 160 million customers a year.
The article is particularly timely for promoting Alabama’s recent successes in luring the aerospace industry, because it has the potential to catch the eyes of global business travelers heading to the 50th International Paris Air Show. The state is expected to have a significant presence at the air show this year, following the recent groundbreaking by Airbus on plant in Mobile, where it plans to assemble its A320 jetliner. It is the first U.S.-based production facility for Airbus, which will also be an exhibitor at the air show.
In addition to being featured in the June edition, the special section on Alabama is now available for viewing separately, online, as a “Sky Extra.” Reprints of the section will also be available for order through the magazine’s website, www.deltaskymag.com.
