Jobs coming to Greenville
Ozark Materials, a manufacturer of thermal plastics, has announced that it will move into a vacant building in Greenville, Ala., and bring at least 40 jobs.
Gov. Robert Bentley spoke at the May 24 announcement.
The old West Point facility had been empty for more than two years, but Ozark Materials is making a $3 million investment in Butler County. The plant will make the plastic striping for roads and interstates, and the company plans to be delivering product in the first quarter of 2014.
The expansion is being credited to the Alabama Transportation Rehabilitation and Improvement Program (ATRIP) program, with assistance from Alabama Power’s Economic Development team.
“This really was a team effort from many parts of the community,” said Rod Cater, Alabama Power’s Greenville office manager. “From the Department of Commerce, Butler County Commission for Economic Development, City of Greenville and the Butler County Commission all playing an active role. None of us could do this alone.”
