The Smith Dam boat ramp parking lot will be closed from Nov. 13 through Dec. 15 for expansion and resurfacing.

Boaters are encouraged to use other nearby ramps for lake access during construction:

• Smith Lake Lions Club boat ramp – free access. From Jasper, take Alabama Highway 69 to Wilburn (Bug Tussle) and turn north on County Road 54. Go 0.5 miles, turn left on County Road 25 and go 1.7 miles before turning right on County R51. After 1.3 miles, turn right on the unnamed access road and arrive at the boat ramp in 1 mile.
• Duskin Point Marina – $5 fee. From Jasper, take Alabama Highway 69 10.7 miles to County Road 43/Smith Lake Dam Road on the left. In 6.4 miles turn right onto Richards Road. Go 0.7 miles and bear left onto Duskin Drive. Continue 0.2 miles onto Duskin Point Road and reach the marine in 0.2 miles on the right.
• Squirrel’s Marina – $5 fee. From Jasper, take Alabama Highway 69 10.7 miles to County Road 43/Smith Lake Dam Road on the left. In 6.4 miles turn right onto Richards Road. Go 0.7 miles and stay right on Richards road to arrive at the marina in 0.1 miles.
