In just a matter of months, new life will be breathed into an old venue that calls downtown Birmingham home.

The Lyric Theatre, a 1914 vaudeville theatre, is expected to open in 2016. The venue will host parties, weddings and other unique festivities in the Magic City.

Thanks to generous supporters, a fundraising goal of seven million has been exceeded by well over a million, and donations keep coming. Keisa Sharpe gives us an update on the progress with a look inside the historic venue, along with videographer Brittany Faush Johnson.
