Summer weekends across Alabama are packed with events. Many of these happenings allow us to enjoy the beautiful, natural landscape provided by our state. Here’s a quick guide if you need help determining which cool events to include in your plans.

BMA Speaks to Birmingham

The Birmingham Museum of Art is presenting a poetry series hosted by Sharrif Simmons and Max Rykov. The series will focus on work from the exhibition Black Like Who? The platform also includes hot topics, spoken word and poetry. The free event is Friday, Aug. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Birmingham Museum of Art, 2000 Rev.  Liberty Cup Girls Soccer Tournament

A girl’s weekend may be just the thing you need and the Liberty Cup Girl’s Weekend Soccer Tournament is a great way to kick off the fall soccer season.
