100 dishes to eat in Alabama before you die: Black Rock Bistro

Catfish ponchartrain

The next time you get a taste for cuisine inspired by New Orleans, head to Jasper’s Black Rock Bistro. The owners, Greg and Lindsey Kilgore, moved to Alabama after Hurricane Katrina destroyed their home.

Permanently leaving their Louisiana home after this tragedy, they’ve brought culinary life to their Alabama community.

The restaurant features Cajun and Creole delights such as crawfish pies, pan seared scallops and their signature Catfish Pontchartrain – named as one of the Alabama Tourism Department’s 100 dishes to eat in Alabama before you die.

Producer Chad Allen shows us how this flavorful creation is made.
