Joaquin heads into the Atlantic – crews to stay in Alabama
The eastward turn of Hurricane Joaquin has sent it away from predicted landfall along the East Coast. As the change in forecast has drastically reduced the potential for major power outages in the Chesapeake region, the need for additional utility workers on standby has also decreased.
The Alabama Power workers who had been preparing for deployment for Virginia are staying home, and at this time there are no other utilities requesting assistance.
