Alabama ZIP codes among ‘America’s Most Haunted’

Looking to buy a haunted house?

There are around 22,000 potentially haunted houses in the U.S., according to a new study from RealtyTrac.
Alabama might be the place to look, according to a new report, “America’s Most Haunted,” from RealtyTrac, which claims it has identified the top housing markets in America that are most likely haunted.
RealtyTrac said Mobile, particularly in the 36610 ZIP code, is the top potentially haunted market in America. As many as 69 homes, one in every 89, could be haunted in that area.
For full disclosure, RealtyTrac admits that the only criteria it used for the study was analyzing single-family units that are unoccupied and the owner is deceased.
Jefferson County also made the list, among others such as Mahoning County, Ohio; Wayne County, Mich.; Lake County, Ind.; Allegheny County, Pa., Hinds County, Miss., Schuylkill County, Pa.; and Westmoreland County, Pa.
According to RealtyTrac, of its nationwide search for potentially haunted destinations, 22,000 single-family units qualify, making that one in every 5,973 homes.
So, if you’re looking for a new home, and you’re in the Halloween spirit, look no farther than the Yellowhammer State.
