WET, COOL DECEMBER DAY: On this rainy day, we have falling temperatures across much North and West Alabama. After starting the day in the 60s, we now have 50s in most places north and west of Birmingham…

Widespread rain will continue tonight, ending from west to east early tomorrow morning. Rain totals of 1-2 inches are likely; a few spots could see over 2 inches. No severe storms, probably no thunder. Just a good soaking rain.

TOMORROW: We won’t get out of the 50s tomorrow, and the clearing process should begin tomorrow afternoon as drier air works in. The sky will become clear tomorrow night, and we will drop into the mid 30s by early Thursday morning.

THURSDAY/FRIDAY: These two days will be cool and dry with highs in the 50s; coldest morning will come early Friday with low 30s likely… we could see upper 20s in colder spots.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: The weather stays rain-free Saturday and Sunday; expect mostly sunny conditions both days with highs around 60, and early morning lows in the 30s.

NEXT WEEK: A deep upper trough will pass over Alabama Monday… there won’t be much moisture available, but it should squeeze out a few showers. Then, the rest of the week looks cool and dry with seasonal temperatures. See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.
