Birmingham-based Daniel Corporation has been busy in the Magic City, and two major projects have just reached completion.
Following the opening of Grandview Medical Center, the developer has announced the completion of Grandview Physicians Plaza, as well as the Grand Bohemian Hotel in Mountain Brook, according to a release from the developer.
The 207,000-square-foot Grandview Physicians Plaza provides the new hospital with a Class A medical office building that is adjacent to the main building along U.S. 280.
The opening of Grandview Physicians Plaza is a perfect complement to Grandview Medical Center,” said Daniel Senior Vice President Jim Adams. “The building offers the highest-quality medical office space available in the region and provides immediate access to the hospital.”
Grandview Physicians Plaza sits on the 103-acre Cahaba Center at Grandview site along U.S. 280 and is expected to provide medical offices to complement the 372-bed, 1-million-square-foot hospital. Daniel plans future development on the site that will include more medical office space, commercial space and hospitality.
Daniel was a developer on Mountain Brook’s Lane Parke, which has brought a new apartment community to the city.
The Grand Bohemian Hotel, another facet to the project, which includes retail, is now open.
According to Daniel, the developer partnered with Evson Inc. in 2013 to begin the Lane Parke project. Daniel developed the hospitality portion of the project for Kessler Corp. Grand Bohemian is a Kessler Collection luxury hotel.
“The opening of the Grand Bohemian Hotel is cause for great celebration in the city of Mountain Brook, in Birmingham, and throughout the metro area,” said Pat Henry, president of Daniel. “The Kessler team represents one of the great operators of superior boutique properties throughout the country, and this property will serve as a wonderful welcome mat for those visiting our community either for business or to enjoy the many cultural attractions we have in our city.”
The 100-room hotel features 6,000 square feet of event and meeting space, a Poseidon Spa, art gallery and wine-tasting room.
The development sits along Lane Parke Road, adjacent to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens and the Birmingham Zoo.
Work is underway on the first phase of the retail portion of Lane Parke.
