2015 was blockbuster year for Alabama economic development

From Airbus launching aircraft assembly in Mobile to Google selecting Jackson County for a major data center project, it’s been a massive year for Alabama and its economic development team.

In fact, 2015 looks like a year for Alabama’s record books, with game-changing developments in important industry sectors, including aerospace, technology, automotive and advanced manufacturing.

Mercedes-Benz, GE Aviation and Polaris Industries were among industry leaders announcing large-scale projects in Alabama during 2015.

aviation_biz_main“This has been a landmark year for Alabama’s economic development team, which worked together to secure major projects that will make a profound impact on the future of our state,” said Greg Canfield, secretary of the Alabama Department of Commerce. “These projects set the stage for growth in key economic sectors and will create high-paying jobs with staying power.”
