Some restaurants are trendy. Then there are those like the Bright Star in Bessemer.
A legend and a landmark that has mixed Southern cooking with Greek heritage and a flair for New Orleans, the Bright Star does so many dishes well, you could close your eyes and point to the menu and be pleased with what they serve you.
The broiled seafood platter, however, allows you to sample a variety of perfectly prepared seafood on one plate. Here is how they do it and why it has made the Alabama Department of Tourism’s list of “100 Dishes to Eat in Alabama Before You Die.”
