Looking back at the day Alabama survived Armageddon

The deadly tornado outbreak of April 27, 2011, touched all Alabamians. It left us injured and in shock. It also revealed our strength and kindness.
The brave and dedicated employees of Alabama Power were there.
They prepared us for the worst before the storm, and gave their best to help us recover. They put their own troubles aside to help strangers they will never meet.
We thank them, and the utility workers from around the country, for getting Alabama back on its feet.
And we continue to mourn the 247 friends and family members who left such a big hole in our lives.
As we took shelter that day, we were reminded of the bonds that no storm could break. The tornadoes that tore us apart brought us together.
