Bo Bikes Bama cyclists ride again.

The annual affair – started by Auburn alum and former NFL pro baller Bo Jackson – kicked off Saturday, April 30 in the Auburn/Opelika area. Cyclists chose either a 60-mile or 20-mile route.

Jackson started this bike ride in April 2012 exactly one year after the April 27, 2011 tornadoes. In that first year, Jackson joined with other cyclists vowing to raise money to help Alabamians recover from the tornadoes that ripped through the state.

And that they did. So far, more than $1 million has been raised and contributed to the Governor’s Emergency Relief Fund. What started as a mission to help Alabamians recover after tragedy has now become an annual affair.
