The Alabama Business Charitable (ABC) Trust Fund has awarded more than $76,000 in Efficiency Forward grants to eight organizations across the state:

The Efficiency Forward program provides grants to nonprofits to make energy efficiency improvements to their facilities. The improvements help provide cost savings that nonprofits can pass on in services to their clients.

“These eight organizations truly make a difference in their communities,” said Myla Calhoun, ABC Trust executive director. “We are thrilled to provide funds that will help them better serve their clients and make an even greater impact.”

Since its start in 2007, the program has provided more than $1 million in support through 132 grants.

The ABC Trust Fund was created in 1992 by Alabama Power to partner with community action agencies to help low-income families pay monthly energy bills. It also supports programs that promote energy efficiency for nonprofits and low-income individuals and families.
