Enjoy a bit of Oktoberfest all weekend long with Can’t Miss Alabama

That little nip in the air announces that it’s time for fall festivals – get the scoop from Can’t Miss Alabama.

Feel the heat at the Barber Motorsports Vintage Festival Oct. 7-9

Feed your need for speed – and see the finest antique cycles – at the 12th annual Barber Motorsports Vintage Festival, one of the country’s most highly anticipated motorcycle events. The three-day festival features the America’s First Fan Zone with food and entertainment, Ace Corner, a Century Parade and the Motorcycle Classic show. There’s even a swap meet with more than 250 cycle vendors.

Attend from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday at 6030 Barber Motorsports Parkway in Birmingham. Experience five floors of motorcycle heaven at the museum, open for extended hours during the festival, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Go CukoRacco at Horse Pens 40 in Steele Oct. 7-9

That magic feelin’ on the mountain is back again. Beautiful Horse Pens 40 hosts the annual CukoRacco festival, a friends-and-family event featuring music and mixed media arts from Thursday to Saturday. The doors open at 3 p.m. and musical entertainment starts at 7 p.m., rain or shine.

Hear artists including Backup Planet, Boy Named Banjo, Carter Herring, Col. Bruce Hampton and Madrid Express, Mama’s Love, Maradeen, The Captain Midnight Band (x2), The Heavy Pets, The Stolen Faces, Winston Ramble and more.

Enjoy yoga, rock climbing, glass blowing, blacksmithing, disc golf with a PDGA tourney, camping, hiking, kid’s activities and crafts.

Tickets range from $30 to $145.

Shine on with musical entertainment and more at the 50th annual Boaz Harvest Fair Oct. 7-8

Boaz is where it’s at for a fun weekend. On Friday and Saturday, see numerous musical groups such as the Sweet Tea Trio. Ramble through the farmers market and inspect the bounty of fresh produce for your evening meal. More than 400 vendors will offer food, artwork and crafts. The kids can run free in the children’s play area.

Everyone will want to see the MoonPie-eating contest and chili cook-off. On Saturday, the antique car show provides visitors an up-close view of beautifully restored vehicles from throughout the South.

This free event is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in downtown Boaz.

Don’t miss the famous Morgan County Fair Oct. 6-15

The Morgan County Fair has been popular for 63 years. Take your chance to see great exhibits, prize fruits and vegetables, photography and crafts from area artists, quilts, collections, baked goods and plants. Take in Alabama Championship Wrestling on Oct. 7 and Oct. 14.

Enjoy on Thursday and Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.; on Saturday from noon until midnight; and on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Experience the best of Oktoberfest in Auburn Oct. 8

Indulge in good music, delicious German food and a selection of more than 100 craft beers offered at the seventh annual Oktoberfest in Auburn. German wines will be offered for sampling.

Enjoy Headland’s 42nd annual Harvest Day Festival Oct. 8

October is a special time in Headland, when smiling farmers proudly display the fruits of their labor at the local co-op. Residents celebrate the success of the growing season with the annual Harvest Day Festival, which overflows with children’s games and rides, arts and crafts.
