Aspiring Birmingham actor gets the most amazing of Christmas gifts

A few years ago, Birmingham’s Jerome Skinner made a decision he deeply regrets. After being diagnosed with high blood pressure in 2013, Skinner quit taking his medication after his blood pressure returned to normal.

The effect on his health was devastating. “What made everything go wrong is that I took myself off the blood pressure pills,” says Skinner, a Regions mortgage banker and aspiring actor. “That’s when things started taking effect without me even knowing it. High blood pressure is really a silent killer.”

Skinner learned his lesson the hard way, but this Christmas season offers him a chance at recovery and redemption with the ultimate gift – the gift of life.
