Camp Smile-A-Mile (Camp Sam) held its annual holiday celebration Dec.camp-smile-a-mile-logo-710 for the families served by the free facility at Children’s Harbor on Lake Martin. The organization provides educational and recreational activities for young cancer patients.

Alabama Power Service Organization (APSO) volunteers were on hand to spread holiday cheer by helping guests with registration, giving gifts to patients and working the chocolate fountain.

Each holiday, Camp Smile-A-Mile provides gifts for patients and their siblings. The party featured a special guest appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Program Director Jennifer Amundsen said the staff looks forward to the party each year. “It gives us great joy to be able to do this for the kids and families we serve.”
