It’s one thing to learn in the classroom, but students take that learning one step farther when they participate in the Alabama Power Education Event at Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama.
The annual event, held Thursday, April 19, gave them the opportunity to learn about engineering and automotive careers on the grounds of the Barber Motorsports Park.
They also interfaced with race car drivers competing over the weekend. Verizon IndyCar Series driver Charlie Kimball and Ricky Davis, chief mechanic for Chip Ganassi Racing, were special guests at the event, sharing how education helped propel their careers.
