Barber Motorsports Park hosted the annual Electrathon Alabama competition on April 30. Students from 20 high schools and three colleges from Alabama and Georgia drove 36 electric-powered vehicles they designed for one hour on a closed-loop course.
As part of the event, BMW, Chevrolet and Ford presented a plug-in electric car show.
Event sponsors include Alabama Power, SKY (Skilled Knowledgeable Youth), Zoom Motorsports and Barber Motorsports Park.
