Recipe: Southern Slow Cooker Black-Eyed Peas

Black-eyed peas bring you good fortune in the new year. (Southern Bite)

Some things, especially dried beans, are just best when slow cooked. Since black-eyed peas are small, they don’t really require soaking before cooking. I’ve tried them both ways and I actually prefer them not soaked. The texture is creamier and the flavor is bolder.

Spruce up one of your favorite good luck recipes with a soulful bold taste. (Southern Bite)
