Alabama football practices are becoming more situational as the Crimson Tide prepares for a scrimmage Saturday.

Coach Nick Saban said those practices include extra repetitions for all players in an effort to build up depth. With COVID-19 already requiring some players to miss practices and even games due to positive tests and contact tracing, depth could prove to be crucial this year.

Saban said players are challenging each other to step up and be prepared for the start of the season. Alabama opens the season on the road against Missouri on Sept. 26 at 6 p.m.
