The Grilling King: S’mores
With this being Halloween weekend, odds are you’re going to have lots of extra chocolate around the house. Go ahead and make sure you have some graham crackers and marshmallows on hand so you can do something fun with the whole family.
When there is a chill in the air, my mind goes to campfires and s’mores. But you don’t need a campfire when you can fire up your grill.
All you need for a s’more to be a s’more is a way to melt the chocolate and the marshmallow, and a crisp cookie to hold it all together. That gives us that gooey treat we all love with the play of the different textures.
With that in mind, I decided to play around with the ingredients. Of course, you can always go traditional with graham cracker, milk chocolate and marshmallow. I also made one with a Reese’s cup replacing the milk chocolate. And, just for fun, I decided to try some fudge-striped cookies with the marshmallow.
As you will see, the first two were a great success while the third – not so much. But that’s what makes this fun – the whole family can get involved in mixing ingredients and being creative. And you can always eat your mistakes.
