Roy Wood Jr. talks about his favorite places to eat in Birmingham growing up and the places he has to got to eat when he's back in town for a visit. (Á la Carte Alabama)

Roy Wood Jr. has a number of titles he goes by these days.

In addition to “comedian,” “actor” and “filmmaker,” he has also become an ambassador for his home city of Birmingham.

He has used his celebrity to promote everything from the Negro Southern League Museum to growing the film industry in the city.

Wood talked to Á la Carte Alabama for Alabama NewsCenter about his favorite places to eat when he was growing up in Birmingham and the places he has to be sure to eat when he’s back for a visit these days.
