What is one thing you’ve always wanted to do, but haven’t had the chance to do yet?

“I want to see my girls get married. One of the biggest accomplishments of my life is the blessing I’ve been given with these three girls and a wonderful wife. We’re trying to raise cattle and we have an obligation to tend to them, but my family is a wonderful blessing and the accomplishments that comes with that family are some of the biggest stepping stones. I’ve done a lot of things in my life and I want to be in their lives. I want to see my children happy. It’s like raising cattle, you want to go through and see what you’ve accomplished and that’s part of the cycle.” – Mike Dee of Aliceville.

Dee is a farmer and rancher at Dee River Ranch.

“I grew up in southern Illinois. My father had a farm in Florida, sold it, and bought a place in Alabama and Mississippi. When I graduated college, I moved to Pickens County and have been a farmer and rancher ever since. My father said he needed me, so I moved to the farm. I was not raised a farmer or a rancher, so at 20 I was learning what a 12-year-old farm kid knows. It was a big learning curve, but it has been a phenomenal process. It’s a great way to teach value and have involvement with the family. I am the last of 12 children. I have nine sisters and two brothers. I farm with just one sister and she has twin sons that farm with us,” he said.
