Some Alabama counties removed from, others added to tornado watch

11PMFeature

As of 11:00 p.m., nine more counties have been cleared from the tornado watch: Autauga, Blount, Bibb, Chilton, Dallas, Jefferson, Lowndes, Perry and Shelby counties. Ten counties (Coffee, Covington, Dale, Geneva, Henry, Houston, Russell, Barbour, Bullock and Pike) have been added to the tornado watch.

The line of storms is less organized than expected and moving quickly to the east. It will be running into drier air shortly and will start diminishing. There will continue to be decent instability along and south of I-85, and there could be a few cellular storms ahead of the line that could pose a tornado threat.

For now, the tornado watch continues until 3 a.m. for Baldwin, Barbour, Bullock, Butler, Calhoun, Chambers, Cherokee, Clarke, Clay, Cleburne, Conecuh, Coosa, Crenshaw, Elmore, Escambia, Etowah, Lee, Macon, Mobile, Monroe, Montgomery, Pike, Randolph, Russell, St. Clair, Talladega, Tallapoosa and Washington counties and until 7 a.m. for Coffee, Covington, Dale, Geneva, Henry, Houston counties.

The tornado watch has also been extended to counties into Georgia.
