What inspires you daily?
“What I enjoy most to see is those students have those aha moments. Having those moments where it clicks and makes sense, where what we’ve talked about and what we’ve learned from the book and reading has an application piece. To then take what they’ve learned and apply it to real scenarios, real situations, whether it be clinical or within course work. What I enjoy most is to see those students grow in that way.” – Curry Bordelon of Birmingham
Bordelon is an assistant professor at the UAB School of Nursing. He says his greatest achievement is completing his doctorate and starting his career in education.
“Family is also a huge achievement because we have two adopted children. To adopt both of our children during my time of getting one of my advanced practice degrees and the second child being adopted during my doctoral education, that was a big accomplishment,” he said.
Bordelon loves to teach others and enjoys learning.
“Don’t stop, ever. Whenever you get complacent, you lose the opportunity for future learning. Lifelong learning is something that I’m very supportive of and certainly believe in. There’s always opportunities to expand knowledge, to improve your skill set. There’s always a way that you can continue on. Having so many opportunities and being able to take those opportunities means you don’t stop so you can enjoy your moment and enjoy your successes, but continue to plan out your future dreams.”
