Spoken-word artist and actor Sharrif Simmons explores what’s possible with new podcast
Sharrif Simmons says his “The Possible Podcast” is “an overtly and aggressively optimistic view of life.”
That’s not surprising to anyone who knows Simmons. The artist with Birmingham ties and former Magic City resident has enjoyed a life as a spoken-word artist, performance artist, actor, author, songwriter, musician, poet and arts educator.
He can now add “podcast host” to that list of accomplishments. He recently completed his first season of “The Possible Podcast” in which he explored topics such as coincidence and life on other planets. He is set to launch the second season this month, which he said will be much improved and add visual elements.

As the name suggests, Simmons looks at what’s possible on multiple levels. “An exploration of the countless possibilities in the human experience,” Simmons states in the trailer introducing the podcast.
Simmons has spent the past pandemic year in San Diego and launched the podcast last month. While the pandemic forced him to cancel a string of public performance dates, Simmons has found solace and purpose in “The Possible Podcast.”
“A year from now, I’m hoping to be inspiring people to continue their vision of what they think is possible for themselves, and what they think is possible for their community, for their family members and for the world at large,” he said.
“The Possible Podcast” is on Spotify and a number of other podcast providers and can also be found on Facebook. Simmons can be found on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube.
