What started as an oyster bar more than 50 years ago is now one of the Wiregrass area’s most popular seafood restaurants.
Hunt’s Seafood Restaurant in Dothan still serves up oysters by the half shell, but the menu has grown along with the restaurant.

One of the most popular items is the Grouper Nuggets. Cut fresh from a whole fish, the nuggets are battered and fried to create a perfect bite of seafood. It has earned a spot on the Alabama Tourism Department’s list of 100 Dishes to Eat in Alabama.
Tim Reeves, the second-generation owner of Hunt’s, wishes his father could see what the restaurant he started has become today.
