People of Alabama: Linda Barbee of Thorsby

“Be thankful for what you have instead of what you would like to have or what you want. It teaches you a lot of patience. Be happy and blessed. I’ve had a lot of life lessons, but just be grateful for what you have. I think it really does come with age. If you’ve got a home, no matter if it’s what the Joneses think, or the Smiths, or whatever, just be happy in your space. I’ve had to teach myself that and patience.” – Linda Barbee of Thorsby, with her Yorkie, Minnie

Barbee is grateful for the peacefulness of living in Chilton County. She said her proudest accomplishments are her two children and that she tried to instill respect and honesty in them.
“Just have respect for themselves and others. Be honest with themselves and try to be honest with other people so they won’t ever feel that they’ve done something or someone wrong. My children, they’re just wonderful, I love them. I’m very proud of them.”
