Lakeview Hullabaloo

Slice Pizza and Moe’s Original Barbecue present Lakeview Hullabaloo, a music festival celebrating community, music, food, drink and the rich history of Birmingham’s Lakeview District. Lakeview Hullabaloo is set for Saturday, June 4, from 2 p.m. to midnight on 29th Street South in Lakeview. Gov’t Mule will headline the festival. Performances will include Tuckahoe Travelers, T.U.B. The Unknamed Band and Funk You. Event proceeds will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, a global leader in the fight against cancer. Buy tickets at lakeviewhullabaloo.com.

The Marvelous Wonderettes

Meet and learn about the lives and loves of Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy and Suzy, four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts, in the smash off-Broadway hit “The Marvelous Wonderettes” at Alabama Shakespeare Festival in Montgomery. When the Wonderettes reunite to perform at their 10-year reunion, we learn about the highs and lows the girls have experienced in the past decade and are charmed to find that no matter what life throws their way, they will conquer it together. The production features more than 30 classic ’50s and ’60s hits, including “Lollipop,” “Dream Lover” and “Lipstick on Your Collar.” Performances are underway through Sunday, June 26. Keith Sweat in concert

Singer and songwriter Keith Sweat will headline the Birmingham R&B Experience Sunday, June 5 at 7 p.m. at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex. Performances will include Monica, Tamar Braxton, 112, Ginuwine and Silk. Purchase tickets at ticketmaster.com.

Alexander City Sun Festival 

Enjoy the 10th annual Alexander City Sun Festival June 2-11. The family friendly event will offer a variety of entertainment including live music, food, tournaments and KidsFest. Vulcan’s 118th Birthday Bash

Celebrate Vulcan’s 118th Birthday Bash at Birmingham’s Vulcan Park and Museum on Sunday, June 5 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Enjoy a wonderful Sunday afternoon with free Blue Bell ice cream and cookies. The ever-popular trackless train will return along with special guest appearances from Mirabel, Captain America and “the Big Guy” himself. Watch performances by Clog Wild Cloggers and Mason Music. Game Stop is returning, and The World Games 2022 will join in the festivities. More than 15 vendors will offer activities for kids of all ages, including moonwalks, a rock-climbing wall, animal encounters, face painting and glitter tattoos. Lemonade Junkeez, Sweet Spun, The Recipe, Who Dat Sno Cone and other food trucks will be on site with food for purchase. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. Zoo Brews

Join the Birmingham Zoo for Zoo Brews: Drafts at a Distance Friday, June 3 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Craft beer lovers will enjoy a selection of beverages, including specialty brews and wines. Experience breweries from throughout Alabama and the Southeast while you travel through the zoo. Attendees will delight in tasty selections from local food truck vendors, and the zoo’s Wild Burger restaurant will serve light concessions for an additional charge. Zoo Brews will operate with a “Penny-A-Pour” system. Each sample will be worth one penny. Guests will drop their penny into a bucket at each brewery booth to receive a sample. A penny redemption booth at each vendor station will allow participants to cash in larger coins for pennies. All pennies will go to the Zoo’s Emergency Animal Fund. Hank Williams Festival

The annual salute to the country music legend will be June 3-4 at Hank Williams Music Park in Georgiana and will feature several  entertainers. The Hank Williams Festival is an outdoor event.
