Chef Timothy Hontzas’ take on “Greek and three” at Johnny’s in Homewood has been pleasing customers and has earned him multiple James Beard Award nominations, including a finalist nod this year.

It’s a recipe Hontzas has made for years but with a “secret” ingredient that amps it up. The use of Girl Scouts Tagalong cookies boosts the chocolate and peanut butter quotients and takes the torte to another level.
It’s a level that has earned it a spot on the Alabama Tourism Department’s list of 100 Dishes to Eat in Alabama.
