Alabama innkeeper loves hosting guests at cozy bed and breakfast

Choosing a spot to sell for the World’s Longest Yard Sale was serendipitous for Cynthia Stinson.
After a lot of loss and a dark period in her life, Stinson decided to make a change and sell all she had in the yard sale, which stretches for 690 miles on U.S. 127 from Alabama to Michigan. She set up in Mentone. That led to a visit to the Mentone Inn Bed & Breakfast and that led to the offer of a new job.
Stinson has been in Mentone since 2007 and has been the innkeeper of the Mentone Inn since 2009. She has also become a key figure in the Mentone community. She shared her story in this feature from Alabama NewsCenter and This is Alabama.
“Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and just start over,” she says. “Don’t worry about tomorrow, tomorrow never gets here because it’s always today.”
