Chris Brown in concert
Singer, songwriter and actor Chris Brown will be in concert at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex Thursday, July 11, at 7:30 p.m. Brown rose to fame in 2005 as a teen pop sensation with “Run It!” the first debut single by a male artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 in more than a decade. Brown quickly became a well-established star with two multiplatinum albums producing five more top 10 singles, including “Kiss Kiss” and “Forever.” His streak of top 10 albums was sustained with “Graffiti,” the Grammy-winning “F.A.M.E.” and “Fortune.” Brown’s artistic scope continued to widen with “Heartbreak on a Full Moon,” “Indigo” and his 10th and 11th consecutive top 10 albums, “Breezy” and “11:11.” The latter featured the Grammy-nominated single “Summer Too Hot.”

Dedicated to #endingaddiction in the state, RAP aims to help rural Alabama communities identify and prevent substance use disorder through education, advocacy and community engagement.

The annual country music festival will feature three days of music, camping and fun at York Farms in Cullman. Performers include Eric Church, Hardy, Jelly Roll, Parker McCollum and Oliver Anthony. J2A Cultural Arts Street Festival
Thousands are expected to gather for the Journey To Africa Cultural Arts Street Festival at Cahaba Brewing Company in Avondale on Saturday, July 13, from noon to 5 p.m. The festival is a celebration of African influences on the culture.
