Black Jacket Symphony presents Jimmy Buffett in concert

Relive that moment with a live concert experience unlike any other as the Black Jacket Symphony recreates a select classic album live in its entirety, plus a full set of greatest hits from the evening’s artist. Throughout the past 13 years, the Black Jacket Symphony has performed more than 40 classic rock albums, bringing entertainment to more than 1 million music lovers across the country. The performance of Jimmy Buffett’s music is at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex Friday, July 12, at 8 p.m.

Chris Brown in concert 

Singer, songwriter and actor Chris Brown will be in concert at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex Thursday, July 11, at 7:30 p.m. Brown rose to fame in 2005 as a teen pop sensation with “Run It!” the first debut single by a male artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 in more than a decade. Brown quickly became a well-established star with two multiplatinum albums producing five more top 10 singles, including “Kiss Kiss” and “Forever.” His streak of top 10 albums was sustained with “Graffiti,” the Grammy-winning “F.A.M.E.” and “Fortune.” Brown’s artistic scope continued to widen with “Heartbreak on a Full Moon,” “Indigo” and his 10th and 11th consecutive top 10 albums, “Breezy” and “11:11.” The latter featured the Grammy-nominated single “Summer Too Hot.”

Highland Park Golf Course Charity Golf Tournament

Highland Park Golf Course in Birmingham is hosting a charity golf tournament Saturday, July 13, at 2 p.m. to raise money for Rural Addiction Prevention (RAP). Dedicated to #endingaddiction in the state, RAP aims to help rural Alabama communities identify and prevent substance use disorder through education, advocacy and community engagement.

Stolen Faces: A Tribute to 1977

Rock the South ticket sales

The annual country music festival will feature three days of music, camping and fun at York Farms in Cullman. Performers include Eric Church, Hardy, Jelly Roll, Parker McCollum and Oliver Anthony. In addition to music, the festival will offer attractions and activities such as line-dancing lessons, a Ferris wheel, mechanical bull, misting forest and other VIP offerings. J2A Cultural Arts Street Festival

Thousands are expected to gather for the Journey To Africa Cultural Arts Street Festival at Cahaba Brewing Company in Avondale on Saturday, July 13, from noon to 5 p.m. The festival is a celebration of African influences on the culture.
