Hurricane Zeta made landfall as a Category 2 hurricane on the Louisiana coast Wednesday afternoon.

Following the significant winds and heavy rains that spread across Alabama overnight, the Alabama Power storm team is actively assessing damage from Hurricane Zeta and responding to outages.

As of 1 p.m. Thursday, Alabama Power has 382,000 outages and the company’s crews are in the field restoring power.

The safety of Alabama Power’s customers is the top priority and the company encourages its customers to stay away from downed power lines and maintain a safe social distance as crews work to get the lights back on.

If you see downed lines, or you would like to report an outage, contact us at 800-888-2726, via AlabamaPower.com or on the company’s mobile app.
