Who will win the 2016 Iron Bowl?

Football lovers look forward to Thanksgiving weekend to root for their favorite team. The Iron Bowl is Saturday, Nov. 26 at 2:30 p.m. at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa. CBS Sports will broadcast The University of Alabama Crimson Tide and the Auburn University Tigers football rivalry game.

The Bryant-Denny Stadium is at 920 Paul W. Bryant Drive in Tuscaloosa.

Take a hike on the Monte Sano Nature Preserve

Burn off those unwanted calories at the 23rd annual Land Trust Thanksgiving Day Hike Thursday, Nov. 24 in Huntsville. The family friendly event begins at the Alms House Trail at 9 a.m. and ends at the historic Three Caves. Feel free to bring bottled water and cameras. Hikers should wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Dogs must be kept on leads.

Admission is free.

Celebrate the 46th Annual Thanksgiving PowWow

The Poarch Creek Indians will convene on Creek lands in Atmore to celebrate Thanksgiving on Nov. 24-25 at 10 a.m. The cultural festivities will showcase authentic Indian garments and a dance exhibition by tribal members from across the country. The celebration includes crafts, quilts and the crowning of the Poarch Creek Indian princesses. Click here for the schedule of events and admission information.

Ice skating comes to the Magic City

Railroad Park presents Birmingham’s Winter Wonderland Nov. 25-Jan. 16. The new outdoor skating rink will be open on Christmas and New Year’s Day. The rink will offer a variety of entertainment, including birthday and holiday parties, corporate events and more. Click here for the complete schedule.

Let it Snow!

The Imagination Place Children’s Museum at Lookout Mountain is open through Jan. 31 in Gadsden. Children ages 2 through 10 can play in a snow pit that feels like snow. The children will enjoy exhibits, train stations and more. The Hardin Center is closed on Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day.

Attend a country craft show

The 22nd Annual Marshall County Craft Club Christmas show will feature more than 40 crafts artists through Dec. 23 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Each handcrafted gift can be personalized. Admission is free. The Marshall County Craft Show is at Billy B. Dyar Blvd. in Boaz.
