New Tornado Watch issued for parts of central, north Alabama until 1 a.m. Thursday

A new Tornado Watch has been issued to replace the old Particularly Dangerous Situation Tornado Watch for the following counties in central Alabama: Autauga, Bibb, Calhoun, Chambers, Chilton, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Hale, Jefferson, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Montgomery, Perry, Randolph, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, Tallapoosa and Tuscaloosa.
A new Tornado Watch also has been issued until 1 a.m. for the following north Alabama counties: Colbert, DeKalb, Franklin, Jackson, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall and Morgan.
Under these Watches, the following are possible:
- A couple of strong tornadoes
- Isolated hail up to ping-pong-ball size
- Isolated damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph
The Tornado Watch was allowed to expire for the following counties: Blount, Cullman, Cherokee, Etowah, Fayette, Greene, Lamar, Marion, Pickens, Sumter, Walker and Winston.
