The ‘Redneck Rosé’ at Perdido Vineyards is one of 100 Dishes to enjoy in Alabama

A rosé by any other name …

It doesn’t take long hanging around Jim Eddins to pick up on his strong sense of humor.

The founder, owner and operator of Perdido Vineyards in Baldwin County likes to have fun while he works.

That sense of humor and that work is reflected in Rosé Cou Rouge, a semi-dry red muscadine table wine that is among the winemaker’s most popular. If you don’t speak French, the wine’s name translates to “Redneck Rosé.” The beaches along the northern shore of the Gulf of Mexico are affectionately called the “Redneck Riviera,” so the wine is an homage to the locale.
