Welcome to Alabama NewsCenter

If you are reading this, then you probably already know: This is the new Alabama NewsCenter.
It is the latest extension of Alabama Power’s well-established efforts to promote growth and economic development by showcasing positive stories about our state.
We used to call this site “Alabama Power” NewsCenter, because of its earlier focus on sharing Alabama Power-related news, along with stories about the civic and charitable works of employees, corporate partners and non-profits supported by the Alabama Power Foundation. We will continue to share these stories.
But as the new name suggests, our focus has shifted, with an even greater emphasis on highlighting the good news about Alabama. And there’s plenty to tell: about business and innovation, about communities and organizations, and about individuals – doing good things, large and small, to make Alabama better.
“Alabama NewsCenter is a new resource to support a mission Alabama Power began more than a century ago: to advance Alabama and promote growth and economic development by helping share the good stories of our wonderful state,” said John Hudson, Alabama Power’s vice president of Public Relations and Charitable Giving. “We invite anyone interested in our state to visit Alabama NewsCenter and help us spread the word about what makes Alabama great.”
Alabama NewsCenter is designed to complement other Alabama news and information sites. In fact, the original content on this site is available free to any media or non-profit organizations to use and share. What’s more, we hope to share with you the best stories about our state that other news and information sites are producing.
So, welcome to Alabama NewsCenter. We hope it informs you, inspires you, and makes you proud to be from the state we call home.
