Alabama’s home prices are on the rise

Alabama joins much of the rest of the country in enjoying consistent home price appreciation.
With the exception of Mississippi and Louisiana, U.S. states recorded positive year-over-year gains in home price appreciation, according to CoreLogic’s U.S. Home Price Insights Report through January 2016.

CoreLogic expected February to have more positive growth with a projected 0.5 percent month-over-month increase and a 5.5 percent year-over-year increase.
During January, Alabama experienced a 0.2 percent month-over-month increase and a 3 percent year-over-year increase in home price appreciation, with a projected 0.3 percent rise from January to February and a 5.8 percent year-over-year rise during February.
