Alabama Power’s storm team continues to make significant progress restoring power to customers affected by Hurricane Sally.

The impact from Sally, which made landfall as a Category 2 hurricane with wind speeds of 105 mph, has been met by Alabama Power crews and a force of more than 4,400 lineworkers and support personnel from 14 states committed to restoring power.

Restoration is complete in central and southeast Alabama and all efforts are focused on the Mobile area, where about 75,000 are currently without power.

Alabama Power anticipates customers in Baldwin County will be restored by the end of the day and for the majority of customers in the Mobile area still affected by the storm to receive service by Saturday evening.

Restoration for the heaviest hit areas, including Bay Minette, downtown Mobile and southern Mobile County, could extend into early next week.

Alabama Power’s storm team will continue to work safely and efficiently until service is restored to all customers who can receive it.
