UPDATED: More counties added to PDS Tornado Watch issued for Alabama until 7 p.m.

The Storm Prediction Center issues Particularly Dangerous Situation (PDS) Tornado Watches when conditions are favorable for long-lived and intense tornadoes.
They constitute only about 3% of the overall tornado watches issued.
In Alabama, the watch includes Autauga, Bibb, Blount, Calhoun, Chambers, Cherokee, Chilton, Choctaw, Clarke, Cleburne, Clay, Coosa, Cullman, Dallas, Elmore, Etowah, Fayette, Franklin, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Lamar, Lawrence, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Marion, Montgomery, Perry, Pickens, Randolph, Shelby, St. Clair, Sumter, Talladega, Tallapoosa, Tuscaloosa, Walker, Washington, Wilcox and Winston counties. The graphic below shows the latest additions to the watch.
It will be in effect until 7 p.m., but you can expect additional tornado watches throughout the overnight and in areas not covered by this watch.
