Eat in the Streets will have a Halloween theme this Friday and Saturday as it moves to Avondale and offers a four-block long party known as Peaches and Scream.

Eat in the Streets allows patrons to socially distance while enjoying dining outdoors. Forty-First Street South will be closed between First Avenue South and Fifth Avenue South. Hours for Eat in the Streets will be Friday, Oct. 30 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 31 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Participating restaurants include: Avondale Brewing Co. (Saturday only), Avondale Burger Company, Luna, 41st Street Pub, Fancy’s on Fifth, Melt, Spring Street Bar & Grill, Avondale Common House, Cookie Dough Magic, Saw’s Soul Kitchen and Post Office Pies.

The Peaches and Screen Halloween Party is a kid-friendly event until dark, with business handing out candy to children on Friday and Saturday and free mini-scoops of Cookie Dough Magic to kids 12 and under on Halloween. For adults, there will be live music and DJs, signature cocktails and beer, and the University of Alabama football game will be shown on the big screens at Avondale Brewing beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday.

On Saturday, there will be Halloween costume contests for children and dogs held near the Melt restaurant around 4 p.m. There will be an adult costume contest held near Avondale Brewing during halftime of the Alabama football game.
