It was a gesture to prove their hard work hasn’t gone unrecognized. Monday, citizens,  lawmakers and fellow Alabama Power employees took time out to recognize Alabama Lineman Appreciation Day at the state Capitol.

In the last session of the Alabama Legislature, lawmakers designated the first Monday in June as Alabama Lineman Appreciation Day, which will be celebrated annually going forward. Alabama Power Chairman, President and CEO Mark Crosswhite issued a personal thank you on Alabama Lineman Appreciation Day, and encouraged employees to remember the selfless work of linemen who keep the lights on for customers, often responding at a moment’s notice.  Nearly two months earlier, National Lineman Appreciation Day was recognized April 18.
