Wintry weather mix expected across northern half of Alabama

The northern half of Alabama is preparing for snow on Wednesday.
For north and central Alabama, forecasters predict a mix of sleet and snow beginning Wednesday morning with temperatures hovering near or below freezing.
Although there is still a great deal of uncertainty in the forecast, many meteorologists warn this could have the potential for a significant snow event.
Alabama Power doesn’t anticipate a significant number of additional outages from the cold, but we will continue to monitor the changing forecast throughout the day. Our crews are ready to respond when and where needed.
