‘Spann’s Storm Stories’ looks at how Alabama Power deals with ice storms

In a recent edition of “Spann’s Storm Stories” on ABC 33/40, meteorologist James Spann looked at ice storms like those in 1982, 1996 and 2014.
The mix of snow and ice with extremely low temperatures during those events brought travel to a halt in parts of the state.
For crews like those with Alabama Power, the frozen precipitation presents a new set of challenges. Watch more in the video below.
