The Alabama Crimson Tide football team held its first scrimmage of fall camp Saturday and, in addition to helping players know where they stand, coach Nick Saban said it is a barometer of where the team is when it comes to kicking off a fall football season.

“Every day that we’re able to go out there with a good number of guys that are healthy and doing well and have positive energy and positive attitude and are working hard to try to get better, it’s exciting for me,” Saban said. “Every step you take makes it feel like, ‘Yeah, we are going to play a game.’”
