Alabama NewsCenter: What is your company’s overall focus and mission?

EnergyHawk: We are creating an ecosystem for third-party energy companies to efficiently locate and contact their ideal customers. In order to do this, we are using satellite-powered energy assessments to create an energy usage profile at individual facilities throughout North America.

Alabama NewsCenter: What inspired you to develop this company?

EnergyHawk: We created EnergyHawk because, quite frankly, the market told us to. We had been using satellite imagery to source clients in our previous roles and had great success. We thought, if we can automate the process, we will be able to create a world where demand-side energy (such as solar, energy storage, energy efficiency, etc.) organizations will be able to accelerate their growth.

Alabama NewsCenter: What attracted your company most to the state of Alabama and the Techstars Alabama EnergyTech Accelerator?

EnergyHawk: The opportunity to work with the leading minds in Techstars, as well as learn from a large public utility is an opportunity we could not pass up.

Alabama NewsCenter: Other than moving your startup forward, what is the most meaningful, long-term learning or takeaway you hope to gain for your company by participating in the Techstars class?

EnergyHawk: Relationships. Nothing meaningful is done alone. The entire Techstars Alabama EnergyTech class shares an ethos to make a meaningful impact within the energy sector. There is a lot to learn!

Alabama NewsCenter: What is the No. 1 thing you would like potential investors to know or understand about your company?

EnergyHawk: The future of energy will be a more distributed, more decentralized grid, where utilities rely on third-party energy companies to help them build this future. EnergyHawk is creating the structures for third-party energy companies to flourish.
