Alabama Power’s Power Pedalers cycling team and the Alabama Power Service Organization will host their Dam Ride event this Friday to support MS research.

The ride is one of several Alabama cycling events held to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

“The Power Pedalers Bike MS team and the Alabama Power Service Organization employees do so much to support the mission of the National MS Society each year,” said Andy Bell, president of the National MS Society Alabama-Louisiana-Mississippi chapter. “We are grateful for their commitment and that we can take a hobby like cycling and turn it into an opportunity for individuals to raise funds and support our organization’s important work to create a world free of MS. We would not be successful without corporate partners like Alabama Power.”

Cyclists begin the ride at the Alabama Power headquarters downtown and continue to Lay Dam in Clanton with a lunch stop along the way.

“It’s a great way to bring a healthy lifestyle initiative together with a great cause,” said Herbie Johnson, Southern Company hydro general manager. “We’re blessed to have employees and volunteers who are passionate about MS and willing to help support the event.”

More information about the ride, including how to register, can be found here.
